I was using the same grounding points for the device as the stereo, and a chassis ground.Īt the end of the day this unit did the job, but did it so poorly that I ended up not using it. I ended up using the high level input on the amp, and the sound was much cleaner - no noise at low levels. so the problem is with the convertion of teh High Level input (which is the whole reason I bought it) My OEM system is very low powered - probably like 5W - so this should have handled this a lot better. I was using cheap 4 channel amp, so I thought maybe it was just the amp, but I tried the AUX input on the device, and it sounded way better - very clean, no noise. I had the input senetivity adjustment turned all the way down, but the output still seemed very "hot". However, once I had it hood up there was a staticy noise coming from the system with zero volume level, and low volume levels. Being a powered line level converter, I thought it woudl be better than the normal passive ones.

Main purpose for using this product was to take the high level speaker outputs from OEM stereo and convert to low level input. So I bought this to be able to add amplifiers to my stock OEM stereo system, as they do not make a dash kit for it yet to be able to swap out the OEM stereo.
